After a few years of driving incredible mileage across Wyoming to go to Yellowstone, it dawned on me to maybe spend that same time driving to southern Colorado and knocking out the National Park Service units down in that area. Outside of some trips…

About the Adventuring Heidi

Hi, I’m Heidi!

I’m a mountain-seeker, a solo backpacker, and a firm believer that the best stories usually involve a few “misadventures” along the way.

My love for the outdoors isn’t just about checking peaks off a list—it’s about the quiet moments on the trail, the logistical puzzles of wilderness permits, and the thrill of seeing what’s over the next ridge. Based in the heart of the American West, I’ve spent my years navigating everything from the high-alpine tundra of the Rockies to the desolate, sun-scorched beauty of Death Valley.

When I’m not out on the Continental Divide, you can find me endlessly researching my next great trip or plotting my next great escape (whatever it may be) into the wild.

Thanks for stopping by—I’ll see you out on the trail!
